It’s time for an update! What an experience! We are living with friends in Centurion in Gauteng while we are preparing for our trip. We’ve managed to buy a 4x4 in week 1; yah! for our ‘new’ old Toyota Prado.
Finding an off-road caravan took a little bit more effort. We eventually found the right one for the right price in Worcester in Western Cape. Here’s the kicker, the day we were going to have a look at it, we tested positive for COVID; down and out for a week 🙈.
I know what you’re thinking… oh no! did you lose the caravan!?
Nope 😁. A cousin in Kuilsrivier, about an hour’s drive from Worcester, went to check it out on our behalf, phew! The owner was so nice, he gave us a FaceTime run-through and when we decided to buy it, he allowed them to hook it up and take it to their home for us, with the agreement to send the paperwork as soon as the money showed in his account.
We’re delighted to say that we are now the proud owners of an off-road caravan too.
We still need to pick it up in the Western Cape, we love it through pictures only for now 🤩. Not a 100% sure when we will drive through to pick it up, we’ll keep you informed. Our next step to go to Pietersburg/Polokwane for Easter weekend to visit dear friends of ours, we’re so excited! 🥳
We’ll be checking in soon again, missing our family and friends in New Zealand. 🤗
Hi Sanet. Great to hear you are getting organized with the car and van. Bummer about getting covid but I guess it's better to get it now when you are in a house rather than getting it somewhere remote.
