This post lists some of our favourite places we stayed in. I'll add more as we continue on our journey. These are places we wouldn't mind visiting again.

Augrabies Falls Lodge and Camp

Lodge

Since we had to pack up the caravan to test if our new engine is working as it should, we have chosen to sleep in the Lodge tonight (2/6/22).

The rooms are huge with a luxurious bathtub. We‘re in for a treat tonight 😁.

Camp

Beautiful camping ground close to the Augrabies waterfalls. Word is that they have the best food in this area.

Here we also made our first potjie (Potjiekos)!

Kameelboom Lodge

Kameelboom Lodge is just outside Vryburg in the North-West Province of South Africa. What a beautiful place!

This is also our first camping experience in our Caravan!

New Holme Nature Lodge

We stopped at New Holme Nature Lodge for a night on our way from the Cape to Gauteng. This is a farm in the Karoo and worth visiting. Late on a Saturday night we were greeted by the owners of the Lodge, PC and Mariska, who invited us to sit by the hearth and enjoy a wine from their cellar, which we did!

Our room was beautiful and we were able to spoil ourselves once more by having a hot bath in a huge tub and a good night's rest in an equally huge bed.

Breakfast was delicious and the presentation thereof amazing. We loved th place!

They also have heaps of activities if you stay longer; bird watching, horse trails, night drives, visiting the hippo pool etc. etc.

Nuwerus Lodge Paarl

A sleepover in the Paarl, Western Cape while we waited for our caravan to be completed by Conqueror Wellington. Late on a Friday afternoon, Nuwerus took us in on short notice (phew!), the perfect place to relax and wind down.

Even though it was too cold to swim, the pool and bar area was beautiful and seemed to be the perfect place to gather friends and family for drinks and conversation.

The room was the best! The finest in luxury and quality, and to top it off, we enjoyed a glass of wine from Nuy Winery to alleviate stress; a special gift from our cousin.
